Our Giving Story

The Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Incorporated (SCPF) is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders through educational support. Each year, SCPF awards scholarships to graduating high school students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership, and high ethical standards.

Our scholarships are open to eligible seniors attending high schools in Henry and Clayton counties. Students are encouraged to apply if they exhibit excellence in the classroom, involvement in their school or community, and a dedication to personal growth.

SCPF is proud to invest in the futures of local students and remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for higher education. Application details, eligibility requirements, and important deadlines will be posted as each scholarship cycle opens. About The Community Service Scholarship

The Community Service Scholarship recognizes graduating seniors who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to service, leadership, and civic engagement within their school and community. This scholarship honors students who willingly give their time, talents, and resources to positively impact others while exemplifying responsibility, integrity, and compassion.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior attending school in or residing in Henry or Clayton County, Georgia
  • Be a U.S. citizen with permanent residence in the United States
  • Plan to enroll full-time in undergraduate studies at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school within the United States (excluding proprietary and fully online institutions)
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
  • Submit an official high school transcript that includes first-semester senior grades

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • Completed Electronic Application Form
  • Resume, including:
  • Academic achievements
  • Awards and recognitions
  • School and community activities
  • Leadership positions held
    • Essay (500–750 words)specific to the scholarship for which you are applying
    • Two Letters of Recommendation:
  • One from a guidance counselor or teacher (on school letterhead)
  • One from a community member
  • Each letter must include contact information
    • Official High School Transcript(must include first-semester senior grades)

Selection Process

About The Entrepreneurial Scholarship

The Entrepreneurial Scholarship supports students who show creativity, innovation, and a passion for business ownership or economic empowerment. This award is designed for students who demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset through business ideas, ventures, or leadership experiences and who aspire to use entrepreneurship as a tool for community advancement.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior attending school in or residing in Henry or Clayton County, Georgia
  • Be a U.S. citizen with permanent residence in the United States
  • Plan to enroll full-time in undergraduate studies at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school within the United States (excluding proprietary and fully online institutions)

About the Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs) Scholarship

The HBCUs Scholarship is awarded to students who plan to attend or are currently enrolled in a Historically Black College or University. This scholarship celebrates academic achievement and honors the legacy of HBCUs in cultivating leadership, excellence, and service while supporting students in pursuing higher education.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

About the Aziza Bailey Service Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated academic achievement while actively engaging in meaningful community service and leadership experiences. The recipient embodies the belief that service is not only an action, but a transformative journey that shapes character, purpose, and future impact.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior attending school or residing in Henry or Clayton County, Georgia
  • Be a U.S. citizen and have permanent residence in the United States.
  • Plan to enroll full-time, in undergraduate studies at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational school based in the United States (excluding proprietary and online schools).
  • Have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • Be able to provide an official copy of their high school transcript.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.GPA verification must be uploaded within the application.
  • Complete at least 20 documented community service hourswithin the previous calendar year (e.g., service completed in 2025 for the 2026 award cycle). Documentation of service hours must be uploaded electronically.
  • Demonstrate active participation in at least one leadership roleconnected to service (such as event coordinator, volunteer team leader, committee chair, or similar capacity). Leadership experience must be clearly outlined within the application and/or uploaded resume.
  • Submit a 300–500-word personal essayresponding to the designated prompt. The essay must be uploaded within the Google application portal.

 

All required documentation must be uploaded at the time of submission. Applications will only be reviewed once all electronic materials have been successfully received.

About the 2026 Future Legal Leader Scholarship

This scholarship supports and encourages students who have demonstrated a strong interest in pursuing a career in law, along with a commitment to justice, fairness, and civic responsibility. It seeks to invest in aspiring legal professionals who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and a genuine passion for making a meaningful impact through the legal field.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior attending school or residing in Henry or Clayton County, Georgia
  • Be a U.S. citizen and have permanent residence in the United States.
  • Plan to enroll full-time, in undergraduate studies at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational school based in the United States (excluding proprietary and online schools).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrated interest in law through coursework, extracurricular activities, internships, community service, or related experiences
  • Ability to articulate legal career goals, preparation efforts, and long-term aspirations through written and video submissions
  • Thoughtful analysis of a legal issue that reflects the applicant’s understanding of fairness, justice, and the role of law in society
  • Completeness and Quality of Application Materials
  • All required documents must be submitted in full and by the stated deadline

Applicants must submit:

  1. Completed Electronic Scholarship Application Form
  2. Video Submission (Maximum 3 Minutes)
    Applicants must upload a video addressing one (1) of the following prompts:
  • Why are you interested in pursuing a legal career?
  • What steps have you taken to prepare for law school?
  • How do you hope to use your legal education to make a difference?
    1. Written Essay (300-word limit)
  • What is one legal issue (past or present) that has shaped your perspective on justice or fairness?
    1. Official High School Transcript
  • The official transcript must be uploaded within the application portal.
  • Transcripts must reflect the most recent coursework completed as of December 2025.

All required documents must be uploaded at the time of submission. Applications will be reviewed only after all electronic materials have been successfully received by the stated deadline.

 

Important Submission Guidelines

  • All materials must be submitted electronically through the Application portal.
  • The official transcript must be uploaded to the application.
  • The filename for each uploaded document must include the applicant’s first and last name (Example: pdf).

Applicants receiving the highest composite scores will be invited to participate in an interview before a scholarship review panel. Final scholarship recipient(s) will be selected based on application scores and panel interview evaluations.
