Cotillion Overview
The Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Inc. proudly presents the “Revealing the Excellence Within” Debutante Program & Cotillion Scholarship Ball. Rooted in a rich historical tradition, a debutante was once described as a young woman making her formal introduction to society. Today, we embrace that legacy as a meaningful opportunity to mentor, support, and celebrate exceptional high school seniors preparing for post-secondary education.
Our Debutante Program is designed to enrich each participant’s educational, social, and cultural growth through a series of intentional experiences. Debutantes engage in:
Personal development and life-skills workshops
College preparation sessions
Community service projects and volunteer opportunities
Cultural enrichment activities
Etiquette and social graces training
2026 Polished in Purpose, Poised in Pearls
These enriching experiences culminate in the season’s signature event—the Cotillion Scholarship Ball—where Debutantes are formally presented to the Clayton and Henry County community in an elegant celebration of tradition, achievement, and grace.
Beyond leadership development and unforgettable moments, participants also have the opportunity to earn college scholarships made possible through our 501(c)(3) Foundation. Scholarship awards are granted based on established criteria and reflect our steadfast commitment to promoting academic excellence and investing in bright futures.

Cotillion Orientation
The Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation, Inc. proudly presents the Revealing the Excellence Within Debutante Cotillion, our signature program serving young women in Clayton and Henry County, Georgia.
We are grateful for the continued support of our community partners, families, and supporters who help make this transformative experience possible. Prospective participants and their families are encouraged to attend our Cotillion Orientation to learn about program expectations and requirements.
The season concludes with a formal Debutante Presentation at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, celebrating each young woman’s growth and achievements.
Participation requires commitment and active engagement. In return, debutantes benefit from personal branding development, mental wellness enrichment, financial readiness training, college scholarship opportunities, and other valuable program incentives.
Before applying, families should review the following minimum participation requirements:
2026 Polished in Purpose, Poised in Pearls
A Prospective Debutante Must:
- Be a Senior in High School at the beginning of the fall school term.
- Have a cumulative academic average of at least 2.5.
- Be single.
- Not have children.
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation; one (1) must be from a school counselor or advisor and the other from a clergy member or an adult friend such as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
A Prospective Jr. Escort Must:
- Be a High School Senior no older than a freshman in college at the beginning of the fall school term.
- Have a cumulative academic average of at least 2.5.
- Be single, not have children.
- Be a gentleman with high moral standards and ethics.
A Prospective HOst/Hostess Must:
- Be enrolled in school and classified in grades 8-11.
- Have high moral standards and be friendly.
- Be referred by Members of the Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation.

2026 Revealing the excellence within
The Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation Inc.’s Revealing the Excellence Within Debutante Cotillion Program is a purpose-driven experience designed to empower young women through leadership, service, and personal development. Guided by the 2026 theme, Polished in Purpose, Poised in Pearls, the program prepares Debutantes for success academically, socially, and personally.
Through a structured series of educational workshops, mental wellness enrichment, cultural experiences, and community service, Debutantes develop essential life skills, including etiquette, personal branding, college readiness, and leadership. Participants are also engaged in fundraising activities and service initiatives that directly impact their communities.
